Yes, I am a Certified and MN Licensed Permanent Makeup Artist who operates in a state licensed permanent makeup studio establishment.
Ombre Powder Brows is a gradient tattoo that is darker at the tail and lighter in the front. It resembles the makeup look and can be bold or more subtle depending on your personal preference. It can typically last up to 2-3 years.
Everyone has a different level of sensitivity so topical anesthetics are applied during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Most clients are able to sleep through the procedure, but please not everyone’s pain tolerance is different.
I follow all protocols for safety and sanitation. All instruments and supplies used are single one-time use, sterile, and disposable.
Mild swelling can occur in some clients, especially those with sensitive skin. Swelling will dissipate within a few hours after the procedure.
During the healing stage, your brows will darken and begin to flake off. They will look lighter once all flaking is complete. Week 2-4 is when the pigment will start to resurface and the true color can be seen at about week 4-5. Any changes you would like to make can be done at the touch appointment.
In order to keep your eyebrow tattoo results looking fresh, we recommend a touch up every 12-18 months.
Your brow tattoo will last as long as it’s maintained. Typically on average 1-3 years depending on the client’s skin, retention, lifestyle and aftercare.
Because pigment color is implanted in the facial area which tends to have more fluid circulation than other parts of the body. Your face sees the most wear of any part of your body; exposure to sun, food, facial products and so on and so forth. All of these things can cause permanent color to fade over time.
The procedure takes roughly 3.5 hours. Please allow a solid 4-4.5 hours window for your appointment.
No. There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within a couple hours.
Your brows are fully healed after about 6-8 weeks, any touch ups can be done after that period.
Eyebrow tattooing is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up appointment 6-8 weeks after. After taking your before photos, I will map the brow design in pencil so you get an idea of the shape and form. Please note that nobody’s face is totally symmetrical therefore please be realistic with your expectations. Once we have agreed on the final shape (ultimately it is your decision, but I will provide my professional recommendation on what I believe best suits your facial features), we will decide on the pigment color. After pre-draw is complete, I will begin the tattoo procedure. A topical anesthetic will be applied to minimize any discomfort.
You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry; that means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet; no tanning or prolonged sun exposure, no picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattoo; as this may result in loss of color and scarring. You will be given an aftercare kit and instructions on how to maintain your tattoo after the treatment is complete.
Your eyebrows will last longer if you apply sunblock often and avoid abrasive facial treatments in the brow area. Also, following after care instructions is extremely important the first few weeks to ensure beautiful and long lasting results.
Yes, it does happen. Some client’s skin may react to the trauma of the tattooing, and the skin may try to push out the foreign object of pigment by producing an extreme scab, so they eventually fall off taking all the pigment with it. There is a condition called Pigment Allergy (PPD Allergy, a condition known by dermatologists) or Autoimmune disease symptoms (the client may not even be aware of it). The skin would have overreacted and become super sensitive to the pigmentand reject it at any cost.
